Bioblitz (Türsay) Peninsula Citizen Science

The second of the meetings held within the scope of Bioblitz (Türsay) Peninsula Citizen Science Practice on 25 November 2018 was held with the headline “botany science”.

At the meeting held in Bademler Natural Life Village with the participation of Zeytince EYDD, firstly Assoc. Dr. Koray Velibeyoğlu made a presentation on the purpose and scope of citizen science practice. Then, Ege University Faculty of Science Botany Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Serdar Gökhan Şenol explained the basic concepts in botany, how the issue should be handled, and gave detailed information about the floristic diversity of Turkey and Izmir.

In addition, introductory information on how to conduct research in citizen science practice is also presented. In the last part of the morning session, Tolgahan Oysal explained how to use the mobile application and answered the questions of the participants.

In the second part of the meeting, an applied field trip lasting approximately two hours was made.
